All Weather Wicker

The Lloyd Loom is the machine that creates the woven wicker fabric that is sculpted around a rugged, weather friendly aluminum frame. Each strand of wicker is constructed of twisted cellulose fibers immersed in glue to prevent unraveling. Some strands are reinforced with aluminum wire for added strength and resilience. The wicker is then coated in an outdoor grade resin coating and baked to provide protection from moisture. Then the wicker fabric is sculpted over an aluminum frame and coated with Durium finishing to ensure years of use.

Synthetic Wicker

The Lloyd/Flanders exclusive SunLoom vinyl extrusion process gives it the appearance of our natural loomed weather wicker with substantial outdoor performance. Each wicker strand is reinforced by embedding nylon cording inside the vinyl extrusion. This offers superior strength and durability allowing the vinyl to retain its integrity in hot climates or direct sun exposure. Ultra Violet inhibitors are incorporated into the vinyl during the manufacturing process to prevent excessive fading.

Only 100% virgin vinyl is used in the hand crafted wicker manufactured for Lloyd/Flanders. Virgin vinyl offers much greater strength as a synthetic material because the vinyl hasn't been diluted.
